    She’s perfect. Mesmerizing, really. And Kara’s about sixty percent in love with her. Which is inconvenient, because Kara is also too much of a disaster to do something crazy like introduce herself.

    OR, Lena sponsors a youth center, and Kara works there. OR, Esme is an unwitting and unrequested wingwoman, Kara and Lena fall in love in less than five minutes, and they’re both incredibly useless but Lena hides it better.

    It would be great if they didn’t meet because Kara heard her laugh for the first time and got so flustered she smacked her forehead against the door of the cupboard she was rifling through, searching for googly eyes, but alas. You can’t have everything.

And despite Lena using an alias at the time they became friends, communicating through letters until the whole Lex vs. Superman fiasco happens. Now they meet again, when Lena arrives in National City trying to restore the Luthor name and to visit Lex in his underground prison.

    Kara has largely forgotten about the precocious girl from so long ago, but Lena never has.
