Summary
After the events of the First avengers movie Loki falls back to earth only to be found by very people who put him there. Under the impression that they all knew he was controlled by Thanos and decided eternal imprisonment should be his punishment anyway, he is reluctant to give up any more of his dignity. The Avengers on the other hand are both confused and now stuck trying to figure out what happened to the God of Mischief and what keeps making him so afraid.
Bonus of Loki having to deal with the torture and lack of control while decided where his place in the world is.

Summary
Loki did not plan for anything after his desperate, last-ditch attempt to thwart Thanos's play for the Tesseract, more than half-convinced that it would result in his death.
Miraculously, however, he survived. Even more miraculously, he snatched not one but two Infinity Gems from the Titan's grasp. For half a moment, he contemplated returning to Asgard, allowing Thor to chain him and Odin to lock him away. The Realm Eternal was supposedly the safest place in the Nine, the one place the Titan might hesitate to seek him.
Yet Loki had spent far too long in a cage.
Loki makes a different decision after the events of The Avengers, and the ripples spread ever outwards.

Summary
The battle between Earth and Asgard had been going on for years, now.
With Thor by their side, the Avengers had held their ground against Odin's relentless efforts to take over their realm; batallions of Einherji had failed to make a dent in their defenses, and Tony was liking their odds of showing the would-be conqueror just how tenacious mortals could be.
At least, he liked them, until the new guy showed up.
Loki, Thor called him, but that was most of what he could tell them, was powerful, sly, and clearly determined to mess with them. He was a chaotic, mischievious little bastard, and for the love of science, Tony couldn't understand why Odin's supposedly most loyal servant wasn't making use of his skills to turn the tide his master's way...
