Castiel is aware of everything, every person and noise and breath, every sound in the large space, but it’s only Dean’s reactions he holds onto, only his that matter. The buzz of the room narrows down into a muted drone, and things seem blurry, much like submerging his head beneath water.'
Or, the one where Cas learns piano, and one drunken night in Paris somehow ends up leading to a definite unexpected conclusion - perhaps, even, a resolution great enough to stick.
Canon-verse, but divergent from season 12. No Mary, and no real resemblance to s12's plot progression.

As it turns out, Yellow Eyes' ego wasn't so big that he didn't bother making any backups. The boys find out that Sam's group of demon psychics wasn't the last batch after all.
