After sustaining grave injuries from battling Upper moon three or Akaza and lack of immediate medical attention, the flame pillar had passed away. It was a big loss for the corps, the flame pillar was a formidable ally, never again will they hear his loud and booming voice, never again will they witness how bright and burning his breath of flame was and never again will they see his bright smiles that even rivaled the flames that he represented.
Rengoku Kyojuro was gone.
Literally, his body snatched away by Akaza before Tanjiro could even make a move.
Or alternatively Akaza keeps Kyojuro alive but with a catch.
A lonely and heartbroken man gains a friend, an angry uncle adopts another child, and the so called fearsome Yiling Patriarch is terribly jealous and confused on his not-crush's friend.

*News* It's been 13 years since the terrorism of the Nightless city. 13 years ago, a man named Wei Wuxian bombed out the biggest shopping mall of the country "The Nightless Shopping City", injuring thousands and killing hundreds of people in the process. His body was never found and is currently still one of the most wanted criminal of this country. It's still a mystery how he managed to sneak in the bomb that day and how he managed to escape from the scene. Although there are speculations that his body was shattered into dust when the bomb went off, the police confirmed that it was impossible. Although the bomb was strong enough to destroy the building, it wasn't to the point of turning a human to dust. There should at least be some remains or body parts at the scene, but nothing was found. Although there is a possibility that Wei Wuxian had suffered from injuries afterwards, passing away during his attempt to escape, the police has warned that we should always stay on guard. As long as Wei Wuxian's body is not found, there is still a possibility that he will return with another attack, even after 13 years.
