Then one day, Sujin slips from his sight. He finds her in the neighborhood bookstore, quietly nestled beside Euijoo - a soft-spoken, steady bookseller with a gentle presence Nicholas can’t seem to shake.
From there, everything begins to shift.

“I think the kids might be a little… you know… scared of him.”
Fuma raised an eyebrow. “Which ones?”
EJ froze. “...I’m sorry?”
“Which kids do you think are scared of Nicholas? Did any of them mention something to you?”
“It’s not that they mentioned anything per se.”
“Are any of them acting differently around him?”
“Well… no.”
Fuma blinked a few times, waiting for EJ to elaborate or offer up some sort of actual explanation then. He didn’t – just stood there with his arms crossed too tightly across his chest to be casual, one of his hike-worn sneakers thumping an offbeat rhythm against the wooden floor.
Fuma’s eyebrows pulled together slowly. “Then I don’t follow.”
“Fine, it’s me, okay? He scares me.”

Summary
Fuma’s life had been turned upside down ever since his grandmother contracted a deadly disease, forcing him to trade blood for money in an illegal boxing stadium. Scars and wounds accumulated on his body like they were paint strokes thrown on a blank canvas, and risking his life on the ring had become the new norm.
He was lost within the maze of life; not knowing where to start and when to end. Amidst confusion, their hands reached out to him.
