The afterpains of childbirth certainly seem to have knocked him down a peg; something that Pure Vanilla Cookie mentally notes, but does not say aloud, as he would prefer to live at least a little bit longer.
“Well, I’ll be,” Shadow Milk Cookie purrs. “If I’d known this is all it’d take to get you shaking in your boots—I mean, your metaphorical ones, since you’ve always got those dogs out—but if this is all I had to do, I woulda gotten you to knock me up a whole lot sooner, 'Nilly. You’re acting like you’ve never held a baby before.”
