Summary
“No,” he says, his voice faltering and oh god, are those tears welling up? “No, you’re going to survive this, like you do everything else. You’re going to survive this because I won’t let anything other than that happen to you!” He hasn’t heard his voice shake like that in a long time. The zombies are catching up, and he grabs onto the handle.
But Thomas’ grip must have softened when his voice did, because Hamilton lets go. He pushes his hands off his arm and the horde all but swallows him.
“Go, Thomas,” Hamilton smiles one last time, fighting the best he can, weak as he is. Thomas wants to let go of the truck, fight this, fight him, but the truck is already moving away, and soon Hamilton is nothing but screams in the distance.

In middle school, Thomas Jefferson accused a weird little scholarship kid of stealing ten dollars. It was funny. No one got hurt. The kid was dramatic, sure, but like—hilariously so.
Jefferson moved on.
The kid did not.Flash forward: that same gremlin (now feral, caffeinated, and somehow both terrifying and underweight) shows up at Jefferson’s elite university on full scholarship, armed with trauma, spreadsheets, and a vendetta.
And then he collapses from malnutrition and stress and dies (temporarily).
Jefferson panics, maybe cries a little, possibly yells at a med student.
No one is okay.A comedy.

i have never been ??? so enthralled ?? i was either giggling my head off at how sweet they are or the silly little facts or literally at the edge of my seat to find out what happens next HSHSHSVSN this is why i never read action thriller (?) i get too excited
it was !! so interesting though !! i simply adore phillip and i adore the reluctant domesticity and i adore how progress and grief isn't like super rushed or anything i love all the close calls in adrienne !! and all the facts littered everywhere. would you believe me if i said i took this as a welcome chance to practice my spanish. because i definitely did
learning this bit of history was so cool >< i genuinely can't get over this fic, like, especially the ending oh god the ending thomas just wanted to keep his boys safe :( i genuinely thought he'd be saved by plot armour but goddamn four whole years... phillip isn't even a baby anymore ... god they are so sad it's unsatisfying but it's lowk exactly how i would have ended it so ! we ball ig

this is such an interesting take on soulmate au ? why have one soulmark type when you can have all of them, you know ? and the way this is written is so captivating; i always want to know more, i want to know how thomas is doing, how alex is doing, why is the red thread reacting like so on alex's side and thomas's side respectively? i can only assume that the brightness of the thread is based on how connected their soulmate's soul is to... everything ? this idea of soulsight, souldrift, so much tied to the soul... i would love to explore it myself one day, should i have the chance. it is uncommon i find myself so enamoured with a soulmate au and such a writing style, so ! continue to write, author, and may you achieve anything you want in life :)
