In which Klaus meets Dave before Five even shows up, and ends up being the most well-adjusted sibling. Also, Klaus' head is not hard enough to defeat a very durable wooden table.[“Vanya, dear, there’s no need to get all upset over a bit of blood.” Klaus smiled.
The wind stopped immediately as Vanya stared in awe up at her brother.
“Klaus.” She whispered. “But… how… you were...”
“Ah, like a little bit of death would stop me from telling Luther ‘I told you so.’” Klaus grinned.]

The one where Sakura partakes in cage fighting to pay her tuition and rent. She has just enough left to feed herself - sparingly - at the end of the day, but it's not so bad.
[“I’d love to see you sock the idiot in his dumb face just once.”
“Psh,” Sakura crosses her arms, “I don’t want to be expelled.”
“I’ll give you fifty-thousand-yen.”
“Done.”

.On Monday she arrives at her desk. Sitting atop it is a bento-box.
Busy gaping at the meal, it takes her a minute to notice the note taped to the underside of the lid.
She opens it warily. Fifty-thousand-yen falls into her lap.
Sock the idiot in the face for me.
P.S My brother made an extra box. Not me.]

["So you found your Hayato then, that's great! For this we just have to pick out Takeshi's second favourite sport from the box of equipment there and send it through to him."
"Second favourite?" Tsuna echoes. "But Takeshi doesn't have a favourite sport apart from baseball."
The other Tsunas stare at him and Orange actually looks disgusted.

.Takeshi lets go of Tsuna and snatches up a baseball from the box. He winks as he disappears.
Tsuna can't help but laugh at what Takeshi's second favourite is. Also baseball.]

1. When Kyoko was five she built herself a brother out of earth and blood.
2. Hibari Kyouya is dead and buried. Kusakabe Tetsuya is the only one who knows.
3. Shigure Kintoki is a Muramasa blade. It fits far too well in Takeshi's hand.
4. When Gokudera was eight, living on the streets alone, he was bitten by a werewolf. It quite possibly saved his life.
5. Shouichi and Spanner are mad scientist Sparks. The world trembles.
6. Lambo is a Halfgod, and the Bovino family is stuck with a very annoying semi-permanent five year old.
7. When Haru was older than most humans ever get to be, she decided to try being one for a while. Kitsune are after all such curious creatures.
8. Mukuro has seen things no human was meant to see, Chrome has lost the illusions that shield most people from the truth of reality, and both of them are as much machine as human.

27. Bianchi had nothing but respect for adult Kyouko. It was just, something had been lost over the course of ten years, a kind of certainty, a breadth of imagination, that had been worn down by ten years of watching the world die.
28. Kyouko modifies the boxes to amplify the most dangerous parts of her comrades' natures. Dino knows that they can't afford to care about the cost and consequences.

Skull has been losing time ever since the curse, but he's getting better now that Fon's here. Ya boi travels around the whole damn world, helps Giovanni with the Carcassa's mutiny, hallucinates dead people, and helps people out. But then his phone falls down a chasm, and things backslide.[''Skull.'' Fon's voice is controlled as always but Skull can hear an obviously surprised undertone. Even his eyes seem wider than usual.
Skull supposes that's natural. This isn't a normal place for someone to be. Especially not for a former civilian.
''Where have you been? None of us have heard from you these last'' He pauses, frowning a bit. ''these last four years.''
Skull freezes.
Was that the last time he had seen any of them? But who and where had it been? Had it truly been four years? How long has the curse been going on now for that matter?... What year is it?]
