Summary
“What the hell did you do, Michael?”
Michael blinked at him, startled.
“Cuz I was dead.” David’s voice sharpened. “We were dead. Burned, staked, drowned. And now…” He gestured around them — the neon, the crowd, the same night replaying itself. “We’re standing here like none of it ever happened. So, tell me, what the hell did you do?”
Michael’s mouth opened, but no sound came out. His heartbeat thundered in his ears.
“I—I don’t…” he stammered, backing up a half-step. “I don’t know, David, I just.......I rode out to the hotel....I screamed until my throat bled. I told you I was sorry. I begged you to forgive me.” His fingers shook as he spoke, his eyes glassy. “And then…Everything went dark, and when I woke up.....I was in the car again. Back at the start. Like none of it happened.”
The silence that followed was heavy, drawn tight.
Paul exhaled slowly. “So… you wished us back?”
“I didn’t mean to!” Michael said quickly. “I didn’t even know I could!"

What if she wasn't an angry, abused, and confused little boy just trying to get home, but a grown woman who's seen the horror of who her father is and is determined to protect the child the world calls the avatar because that's all he is to her.
A child. And she watched her child burn once, she will NEVER, let it happen again.

Summary
Part two of a small series.
Zoka was not created to be loved.
She was created to either burn or erupt and she's hellbent on doing neither. The southern watertribe is new and beautiful and different, and now she has these three children who care for her. Who want her for whatever reason and that fire in her breast that once smoldered for her daughter, is now alight again for the same purpose as before. Azula burned, but these children won't.
Not this time. And if she has to burn the fire nation to the ground single handedly to do it? Win a war? Sell her freedom? Her soul? She'll do it, because Zoka's a protector and that's the only thing she's ever been proud of being. But she won't have to do it alone.
It takes a while, but eventually that wall of "I have to do this by myself" is broken down in one shattered mess and a wolf comes stalking through, his pups tumbling over themselves and the song bird that they've adopted, on their way to her. It takes her a while, but she finally realizes...

Summary
"We're going to be alcoholics by the time we're thirty," Sokka sighed.
"You think we'll live to be thirty?" Zuko asked, honestly thrilled. Sokka had pretty good instincts. Perhaps Zuko should reevaluate his long term goals. He could start by having long term goals.
A more likely alternative was that Sokka was just a hopeless optimist. It just went to show, you never truly saw another man until you stood shoulder to shoulder against a fleet of war balloons intent on raining death upon the city you loved.
Zuko was just a normal guy with normal interests. He liked theatre, burglary, crotchety ostrich horses, watching the Blind Bandit crush her opponents in a glorious display of skill and violence... just your standard banished prince things. It wasn't his fault he kept stumbling into rebellions and uncovering long-buried secrets. Fine, maybe freeing the prisoners was on him, but he was completely innocent of all other treason. Zuko was his father's loyal son. He'd never betray his nation.

“Mandalorian kids?” Quinlan wore a deep frown on his face, knowing how troublesome that was for the Republic.
“They tried to make them fight the Younglings. Some kind of Jedi vs Mandalorian thing. I want to bring them home.”
“To Keldabe? You have lost your mind.”
“The Republic would use them for leverage. It could escalate to war– things have been way too tense for way too long.” Obi-Wan argued.
“Going to Mandalorian Space is suicide.”
“I would rather risk my life than see children used as political pawns or worse, as leverage in war.”
“They are the enemy, Obes. If they get their hands on you they would not be so gracious.”
“There are no enemy children in war. Just children.”
Quinlan knew there was no convincing Obi-Wan at this point. “Fine. But don’t come crying to me when things go wrong.”
They both knew Quinlan would be the first to aid Obi-Wan should things go wrong.

“I’ll take the risk.”
