“Why can’t you do anything right? All we asked you was just to get good grades! What were you even busy doing every time we told you to study?” It was always the same. The same argument, the same reasoning, the same rules, the same actions. Their parents would scold. They would stay quiet. Not like they could say anything anyway if they didn’t want to get more complaints. So they just sat there, the same, uninterested poker face they kept up to avoid their parents from seeing their true feelings, even if they got scolded more for pretending they didn’t care. If they were being honest, they would prefer getting reprimanded more for their expression than fall apart in front of their parents.
