“Is Timberlina finally going to bed?” Jason asked from the doorway. Tim hadn’t even noticed he was there. “I don’t see why he wasn’t taken from the cave sooner.” Damian told him, “Honestly, he’s barely keeping himself upright.” Tim made a noise of protest because he was keeping himself upright just fine, thank you. Damian looked at him flatly, pointedly taking away the arm that Tim hadn’t even noticed was there, and causing Tim to fall back into the soft mattress. Jason snorted from the doorway, Tim scowled, but when that too was answered by Jason snorting, he guessed that he didn’t look as upset as he thought he did. “Not fair,” Tim told them, but it was slightly slurred because of his exhaustion, “you’re awake.” Damian adjusted him so that his head was on a pillow, bringing up a blanket to tuck under his chin, “Yes,” he answered flatly, “but we also took naps earlier today.” They so didn’t, Tim was being lied to, said lie, unfortunately, placated him enough to close his eyes. The hand running through his hair might have had something to do with it, too.

“What about Peter?”
Паук had grinned, yeah, he would be Peter when he graduated. It was a good name, given to him by one of the people he trusts most. So, when Паук had come to Wade and told him that tomorrow was his special day, he hadn’t expected the anger in the man's eyes. He hadn’t expected the way his eyes grew void of that gentleness he usually had for Паук, replaced by something cold. Empty. He hadn’t ever seen Wade like that before. His smile had dropped, replaced by a frown on par with his Mama’s, and he had stood there for a long while, his hand gripping Паук’s shoulder tightly. Паук had stood still, breathing lightly and just…staring at Wade, at his face, one of the rare times it was uncovered. Then, Wade gave his shoulder a squeeze and knelt down, brushing his thumb over his cheek, looking at Паук sadly. His mama and Tony had been happy, and he thought Wade would be the most excited, but the way Wade was looking at him, it unsettled Паук. It was wrong, Wade wasn’t supposed to look like that, he had never looked like that before, and Паук didn’t like that look now.
“I’m sorry, hun.”

Job opening: Housekeeper/Babysitter/Bodyguard for five-year-old Timothy Drake
Requirements: None. Pretending to be Mrs. Mac's son won't even cause the Drakes to do a background check (they won't even bother to check if you're a crime lord that accidentally traveled from another dimension either)
Hours: Negotiable. No extended home visits. Must only drop off food and water twice a week because a five-year-old boy and a houseplant apparently have the same needs.

Or: An accidental interdimensional teleportation causes the Red Hood to end up pretending to be Jason Mac and being Timmy's babysitter.

Summary
Tim, the ever vigilant (always awake and never giving himself a break) vigilante, gets word of a drug bust going down. One he just so happens to be the only one available to stop. Which happens to be taking place in the very early hours of his birthday. Of course he goes on the highly dangerous bust alone. What could happen?
Or: Tim is used to being the Robin that gets thing handled, that doesn't need Batman to come rescue him. Bruce Wayne had made it very clear in the early days that Tim was not his son. Alfred Pennyworth was cold, allowing only the politeness and distance to show through his Iron Wall. Dick Grayson treated him the way he wished he'd treated his brother, Jason.
Tim was fine with this. He wasn't a child. Even if he wished for more of the small slivers of love the Wayne family were just starting to give him, he wouldn't dare take Jason Todd's place. He just hoped the support he provided for the grieving family would make Jason proud. But Jason Todd came back, and he sure made it known he wasn't. He made sure Tim knew exactly what he thought of the cuckoo in his family.
Now, the Wayne family has their lost son back and Tim has a job to do. Just, not in this dimension?
