Summary
During their time in law school, Matt and Foggy’s shared love of music leads them to start an ’80s cover band. (I knowwww this doesn’t match their canon music tastes, but once I pictured Foggy with a keytar a la Ryan Gosling in La La Land, I had to do it.)
After some internal conflict, the band needs a new singer. And who shows up to audition? None other than local bartender (and secretarial student) Karen Page.
Matt really likes listening to her voice.

Foggy’s making coffee when Karen comes out of the bedroom wearing one of Matt’s t-shirts, her hair pulled back in a loose ponytail. She sidles up to him and kisses his cheek when he pours her a cup, says, “Hey, do you want to talk about that thing we talked about last night?”
Foggy has to think for a second before he says, “Oh, your dirty secretary fantasy?”
“Yeah,” she says, biting her lip.

Summary
“How did you even get in here?!” She’s still screeching, makes Matt cringe away from her like she is scraping her nails against a blackboard.
“The window,” he gasps in a controlled whisper, cocks his head to point towards the living room, waves the concept of her unlatched window like a permission slip.
“Jeez Matt, it’s the middle of the night. I could’ve shot you!”
“Sorry I…knocked…” he shrugs, lopsided, drops the weight of his head in shame, but even that move is half-hearted, painful.
Her anger stills, pauses, makes space for her mind to process Matt’s stance, his black-clad body and half-hidden face and the way that he is standing, like his body is trying to limp through the motion.
“Oh God, are you hurt?”[Matt goes to Karen to get patched-up. Karedevil all the way]

Summary
Karen convinces Matt to get some groceries for his sparse cupboards and it helps bring them a step closer.
“Hey, I smell chocolate syrup, can we get some to make chocolate milk? I always loved that when I was a kid, back when Dad was still alive.” "You can smell chocolate syrup? Where? I don't see any chocolate syrup anywhere; we're in the canned soup aisle!" Karen said incredulously. "It's 4 aisles over," Matt answered with a little grin.
