Summary
A casual conversation between Shallan and Adolin reveals to Kaladin that one of his past masters is his best friends’ friend. Suffice to say, he does not, reasonably, take it well. Adolin and Shallan fret until Kaladin finally breaks under the reminder of every small insensitive comment from them and blows over them.
OR
The fight between the trio that was long coming, and very much needed.
CW: canon typical mentions of slavery, implied/referenced past rape, (again, it almost happens but doesn’t. No direct mentions of it occur. But please don’t read if that makes you uncomfortable), canon typical violence, classism, PTSD. Let me know if I missed anything.

Summary
Stormlight healing works off of self-image, restoring a Radiant to their “rightful state.” Which means that Kaladin’s slave brands don’t heal because views them as part of himself.
But that’s the thing. Kaladin’s never viewed himself as a slave, not entirely. He resisted the slave mentality, kept fighting, refused to bow to lighteyes. He’s been a bridgeman, a wretch, a soldier, a surgeon—but “slave” was never a label he accepted.
There is another brand, though. Shash. Dangerous.

Summary
Kaladin’s been under the weather lately…and he’s afraid he knows exactly why that is.
Or: Kaladin and Adolin haven’t been as careful as they should have. Now there’s a baby on the way and Kaladin is mortified by this prospect and also too queasy to function.
