Quizás nunca le importó realmente. Su mente infantil no podía comprender cómo pudo haber sido creado solo para conocer el dolor, el sufrimiento y la desolación. Podría haber hecho lo más mínimo por ayudar, por brindarle un poco de consuelo a la pobre criatura que se sentía tan insignificante en un mundo vasto y hostil.
¿Acaso el grandísimo no era misericordioso y compasivo con los que más lo necesitaban? ¿Por qué él era la excepción en un mundo donde otros parecían recibir bendiciones a diestra y siniestra?

Su hermano, Gabriel, le da un regalo de despedida y le hace prometer que hará todo lo posible por cuidar de sí misma.Aziraphale no se hace ilusiones de lo que le sucederá. Es la hija de un conde, y ni siquiera es hermosa en la forma en que se supone que deben ser las mujeres nobles.
