Summary
Three weeks ago, if you had asked Leo if monsters were real, he would have said only the ones that reside in your head. Like the zombie lady clothed in black who spoke to him outside his mother’s warehouse, or the haunting voices of Tia Rosa and Tia Callida.
Or even people like Teresa, or James, past foster parents who lived in Leo’s nightmares as more monster than human. But now Leo knew that the list continued beyond those that inhabited his mind.
Because ever since he had run away from what he swore was his last foster home, monsters had become real.

Summary
"Upon the main character entering unconsciousness, the books always say that 'everything fades to black,' that the darkness closes in slowly, leaving the main character a moment to reflect on their life, to think back on where everything had gone sooo horribly wrong.

The bullet in her brain was supposed to be the end of Lynx's debut, but it seems that the universe has given her a second chance.
Through Charlie's questionable bonding exercises, Alastor and Lucifer's overly protective nature, and a few bumps along the way, Lynx may just find her way to heaven and finally rejoin the family she thought she had lost forever.

Along the way, a series of events and a fascination with dragons eventually lead him to an unexpected discovery: a place that feels like home where he fights monsters, saves dragons, and encounters a certain trio and a pair of twins.
