Roy Harper is alive.
He’s there, just feet away, fast asleep on Jason's couch, with Lian curled up into his side. It's almost the same position as when she’d jumped into his arms at the ballet studio. She hasn’t let go of him since, even as they’d both eventually fallen asleep on the couch in June Ellington’s generously rented apartment.
Jason hasn’t let him out of his sight. He doesn't move until Roy cracks open his eyes. He blinks slowly, scanning the room, then looking down at his daughter’s still sleeping form nestled into his side. Finally, he smiles.
“Morning, Jaybird.”
Jason could cry.

Roy is back. Jason is still undercover, but he's not letting Roy out of his sight.

Summary
Newly ascended Empress Ah Duo sighs after she's in the privacy of her palace.
It took only a week for the Court to reveal its ugly and disfigured fangs. The snakes and rats in the Court suddenly decided amongst themselves that she's not fulfilling her role as Empress, which as far as their narrow minds can see, revolves around making more children for the Emperor.
No thanks, one was enough. No, that was putting it lightly. Dr. Luomen warned her very clearly: her pregnancy was a difficult one, and so was the delivery. Attempting to bear another child would be far riskier.

“Remember the summer festival? You know, that one,” She asks him a non-sequitur, a little upward twitch in her mouth.
Herein lies the core of her plan. She needs to be as valuable as the Emperor to the Consorts, and more important than their families.
It goes against every tradition of the palace, every convention.
