Detecting a problem with its user, the Omnitrix’s AI decided to take matters into its own, non-existent hands as it fights against the simulation that is harming his user and the other assets. It will do anything to protect its user. That was what it was programmed to do.
Warning: Must read A Reflection to understand what the heck is going on here. It’s a pretty long book, so I don’t blame you if you haven’t, but you might be confused if you try reading one without the other.

Summary
It would’ve been easier to deal with if Wukong had been there to start with. None of this would’ve happened if he’d just paid attention, got out of his cave, went on the mission. It would've happened smoother, if he just hadn't caved at all.
Or: MK insists on taking Macaque out on good-guy missions, trying to kickstart his 'redemption arc'. Wukong doesn't approve because something can always go wrong--especially with those two. He's proven right when they stumble into his home after one of these outings... with more than one problem on their hands.
