Summary
The cures for Hanahaki Disease are equally abysmal. Get surgery that will wipe out all memories of the person he’s in love with, or confess and if that person reciprocates, he’ll live. But if they don’t? Tough luck, and you’d best consign yourself to a long, drawn out death.
And the worst part is? Dazai knows exactly who it’s for.
He will never ever tell the chibi; he’d like to keep his pride if he’s dying anyways. Besides, while Chuuya would never reciprocate, he probably would feel either guilty or annoyed that Dazai is dying because of him, but not at his hand. So yeah, while he’d rather die than admit it (and boy will he ever die because of it now), in the interior of his mind, he’s not going to try and delude himself.
It’s Chuuya. It’s always been Chuuya.
“So either I get surgery, and forget all memories of the slug. Or I die a slow and excruciating death. How fantastic.” Dazai mutters under his breath.
OR
In which Dazai contracts Hanahaki Disease for Chuuya and is determined to let it kill him rather than get it removed (and is painfully oblivious to Chuuya’s affection for him).

“I’m always serious when it comes to Kunikida-kun,” Dazai says solemnly. It’s a fucking lie as far as Chuuya is concerned—Dazai is rarely serious about anything, because he’s unable to grapple with the resulting vulnerability—but… maybe they should have realized Dazai and Ranpo would come up with some grand scheme to get Chuuya to see Kunikida in the same way they do.
And, of course, once that was accomplished, this would be the only logical next step.
“You two are the worst,” Chuuya grumbles. “What’s the plan?”
or: dazai and ranpo's magnificent plan to woo kunikida has one glaring flaw. luckily, they have chuuya to balance things out.

Summary
Dazai Osamu didn't simply…want something.
The only thing he wanted in life was to die.
Occasional want for human warmth and general contact was also a thing he wanted from time to time. It was never specific.
Sure, sometimes he was curious as to how some people would look under him, but curiosity was as far as it went.
He never wanted to see someone cry under him so bad in his life, until he met a cute little tiger during one of his suicide attempts.
As he saw the boy towering over his wet body, concerned eyes, skin-tight, dripping rags of clothing and wondrous little two toned eyes, he felt the spark.
But he chucked it up to his usual near-death excitement.
As the tiger grew to be a coworker of his, somewhat of an underling some might even say, he grew….more and more curious.
Curiosity grew, with each day. Became interest.
Interest became want.
And that want drove him almost insane as he tried to resist it.
