    Joseph chokes on the next inhale, grasping his chest and staring wide eyed at John. He swats at John’s arm and hisses softly “turn that off!”

    Jacob noticed how a shiver ran through her, knew whose face she was seeing now. It was easy, he supposed. After all, they shared the same eyes. At times he could swear she was looking at him, but seeing his youngest counterpart instead, her mind painting his flaming red hair with raven feathers, smoothing his rough skin with a lover’s touch.

    He always hated it. Part of him also knew why, but he never admitted it to himself. It just sounded so pathetic to even imagine. So pathetic to admit to even a slightest hint of a disgusting jealousy.

    Jacob made her in his image, but the painting, in the end, went to the highest bidder.
