Summary
Harry's sixth year ends with the Dark Lord's sudden takeover. Harry gets to live - but why? Back at Hogwarts and after a grueling summer, he deals with Slytherin roommates and a growing power over Dark Marks. An attack makes the trio realise he is a horcrux. The Order tries to free him from the soul shard, but fails. It is traitor Snape who sees how desperate Harry becomes.
~Gen dystopian AU with lots of plot: a slow-burn, realistic mentorship between Harry and Voldemort, and between Harry and Snape.

"But the Horcrux isn't really gone, is it?"Harry frowned. "What do you mean?" he yelled back.
Dumbledore went rigid, actually turning his head to regard Harry. He appeared perplexed, dismayed even. Voldemort was watching the former headmaster with unholy glee. They had paused their dueling.
"Yes," the Dark Lord hissed. "You see? Your pathetic attempts are pointless. He will always be mine."
Harry reluctantly turned around. The wizards regarded him in silence.
"Harry," Dumbledore said softly, with a gentleness that hurt his ears. "You just spoke Parseltongue."

The anger came back to shake his limbs. “I’m done with this. It’s none of your business. Sir.”
“You’ll find that the health of Hogwarts students is in fact my business.”
Harry forced a chuckle. “You don’t care. So you don’t get to demand anything.”
Snape sighed. “Humour me. Or I will have to make a call on the safety of your home situation, which will require an interrogation of your uncle.” He let that sink in, then said: “With truth serum, perhaps.”
He gaped. “You’re not serious.”
Summary: The first week back after summer break, scrubbing a cauldron makes Harry's damaged arm worse: Snape finds out about the Dursley abuse.

Summary
Winter break of Harry’s first year at Hogwarts brings awful memories of his life with the Dursleys and new stresses in the forms of Quidditch rivalry and wizarding biases. Still trying to figure out what Hagrid’s three-headed dog is guarding, Harry’s also struggling to adapt to a world that he didn’t know existed mere months ago. When fighting between the Slytherin and Gryffindor teams gets out of hand, Harry suffers because of it and Snape must help him begin to heal.

I heartily recommend all the works from this author. Their stories put Harry and Snape into situations with a lot of mental and/or physical pressure, mostly on Harry’s shoulders and Snape’s reaction is quite in-canon- which to me is most important to get right.
