Everyone loved Dick Grayson. And for the longest time, Jason resented it. Resented how effortlessly he earned affection, how easily he was adored by the world. It was all too much.
Or, where Jason Todd finds out that there is a despicably thin line between wanting to be someone and wanting to be with someone. He realised the former a long time ago, but it took him literally dying and coming back to life to realise the latter.

Summary
Living away from the manor was better in a lot of ways. It made their visits home sweeter and their home life infinitely more hospitable. But for Jason, living with Dick brought a different kind of tension, one that lived in the moments where Dick looked up at him with sleepy eyes, sat on the counter in their bathroom clad only in a towel, or wrapped himself around Jason at night, insisting he slept better when they were together.
Yes, in some ways living together was worse than living apart.
