    Summary

Gabriel has gone missing, which is troubling. More troubling, the armed forces that did the actual spiriting-away seem to have some sort of technology that blocks miracles altogether. But why? To what end? To where? And how many cryptids are in this place?

    -

    “It’s Gabriel: he’s gone.”

Crowley pondered that for just a fraction of a second before he snickered. “First God, then Lucifer, now Gabriel too? Good riddance. Can’t help you out with killing him though, conflict of interest I think. I would, but -”

“I don’t want you to kill him, you idiot. I need you to find him.”

That was unexpected enough to give him a start, and he squinted back down through the window, this time at the fuzzy top of the oversized fly (hat? He’d never been sure) on Beelzebub’s head. “What?”

“I’m not shouting the entire bloody situation at you through the door.”

In a US government cryptid holding facility, Henry the gray and powerless Gabe (Mothman) bond over weed and the weird mysteries of this magical God containing universe. Anathema, Newt and also powerless Aziraphale and Crowley do a rescue gig, helped out by Monty the Montauk monster who doubles as a seeing eye dog/thing.

Ch 18 Henry learns Gabe tried to hellfire Az and volunteers to hang around heaven to help Gabe with his broke moral compass (& maybe interview God to figure out wtf is up with miracles and the lack of consistent physics)

    #####
“You tried to kill this dude with a pillar of Hellfire?” Henry asked, over her.

    ………

“This dude though, Gabe?” Henry gestured to him. “I’ve known him like ten minutes and you tried to kill this dude ?”

Gabriel pinched his eyes shut. “It was … Things were very confusing.”

“Dude.” Henry weebled to his feet and pattered over to Aziraphale, giving the angel a conciliatory pat on the knee. “This dude’s never done anything to deserve a pillar of Hellfire in his life. I can tell.”

    ……….

“No shit.” He threw up his hands. “That’s it. I gotta figure out what’s going on with your planet’s weird magic theology system anyway, because someone has to -”

“It’s ineffable,” Aziraphale said shortly. “You’ll never figure it out.”

“ Someone has to,” Henry went on, “and while I’m doing that I’m gonna make sure you have some kind of decent moral guidance.”

It was laughable: an archangel, getting moral guidance from a being who didn’t even originate from the same dimension? But then again, well, perhaps who better … ? Anathema considered it.

Gabriel was doing the same, if the look on his face was any indication, but after a second, he asked, “You’d do that? Come back to … well, I’m assuming back to Heaven, I’m pretty sure even here God could make me Fall if I deserved it.”

“Fuck yeah dude, of course I will. It sounds weird as hell. I’m in.”

    Summary

“He didn’t mean to,” Raphael argued, as if stricken by what she was implying. “Michael, you know him. He only asked questions. He is naive and curious and full of mischief, but that hardly makes him a—a—”

He searched for the right word, groping for the knowledge that hadn’t existed before the War.

Michael told him. “Demon,” she said. “Evil spirit.”

She wasn’t happy to say it. She wasn’t happy to watch the expressions parade across Raphael’s face. Horror, and hurt, and anger, and grief.

    Summary

Crowley is the star of the hit, long-running sci-fi show Alpha Centauri, playing the Chief Healing Officer, Nathaniel Ashtoreth. He's had the role for the last two seasons, and has been a huge hit. He's enjoying fame and success very much.

One of the perks of success is that he's asked to do conventions, and at this particular convention, he'll be co-headlining with Aziraphale Fell, who played Brant Francis, the Chief Healing Officer for the four seasons before Crowley arrived. He's never gotten to spend a great deal of time with Aziraphale, but he's had more than a bit of a crush on him since he first saw him in season one. Now he's spending the entire day with him - and it's going to be an eye-opening day.

    Summary

“You don’t feel, Aziraphale,” Gabriel had told him impatiently, cutting through his stammered attempts to explain. “You don’t need food or warmth. Just turn those parts off and focus on your work.”

To his credit, Aziraphale had done as he was asked, for the most part. He cut back significantly on his miracles, and Gabriel remembers being proud of Heaven’s wayward, bumbling agent. He remembers thinking it couldn’t have been easy, being stuck on Earth, and that Aziraphale ought to be allowed some time to figure out what things were necessary and what things weren’t.

Now, though, Gabriel wonders how in the hell Aziraphale managed without using a miracle for everything.
