Merzost is like magic, it does not follow the same rules as the Small Science. It is unexplainable and unexpectable. There are no limits to what it is able to accomplish, but there are also no limits to what it will take in return. During the Ravkan Civil War, Sankta Alina used Merzost three times. The first use robbed her of her ability to summon the sun and gifted it to her Sol Soldiers. The second brought Malyen Oretsev back from the dead. The third killed the Darkling. After the Ravkan Civil War, Sankta Alina used Merzost one last time. The final use of Merzost woke Aleksander Morozova up.

Summary
The brightest lights draw in the darkest shadows, overcome with their bliss they cannot see the darkness surrounding them until it devours them whole and leaves nothing but empty wisps of the potential they had. It rips everything and everyone away from the light until they are forced to turn into it willingly, eventually they learn to find a twisted beauty in the grotesque that is their dark counterpart. In the end the two are more alike than they are different, beautiful cruelty and corrupt kindness blended together until you cannot tell them apart. After all, light cannot not exist without the dark just as good cannot exist without evil. But when they exist so closely together, who’s to say which is which.

Summary
