Summary
Something has gone wrong, and Subaru isn't sure what it is or how to fix it.
It was supposed to be simple. They had arrived back in the Capital because Emilia-tan had received a summons from some important people. And then, the second they got there, they were suddenly rushing to what he soon learned was a rival camp's estate for something. Forcibly confined with only Rem as an ally, and no Emilia or Roswaal in sight, Subaru is told that he has to stay there until an unspecified and possibly fictitious danger has passed.
Any attempt at escape, learning what's going on outside, or even trying to train himself with a weapon is met with the same rejection. Worse, even Rem is starting to tell him that he should just wait patiently. At this rate, he's beginning to think that they're blackmail or something similar.
But, unbeknownst to anyone, he isn't exactly alone. He has a benefactor, and they're mad about their relationship with him being intruded upon by these interlopers.
Faced with a situation where Natsuki Subaru is trapped and utterly powerless, they call in the one person who can help him: himself.
