Summary
How does one explain to one’s children the horror of what one has seen and done? Thranduil wrestles with how to tell Legolas about the history of their folk and, with his wife’s encouragement, he revisits the testimony of the Sindarin refugees collected by Oropher, in preparation. Locked away in secret archives or not, the past is never really past, and even children can outsmart memory.

Summary
"Then Haleth held the people together, though they were without hope; and some cast themselves in the rivers and were drowned. But seven days later, as the Orcs made their last assault and had already broken through the stockade, there came suddenly a music of trumpets, and Caranthir with his host came down from the north and drove the Orcs into the rivers."
But what happened next?
--------
Yes, it's a Halenthir fic. Beginning at the beginning, and tracing out what I imagine the course of their relationship to be, exploring the motivations and emotions of both parties. Despite the ship itself being only "canon if you squint," don't expect non-canon happy endings here. Two strong, proud people who love each other are caught between the competing needs of their respective peoples and by their own pride and beliefs and needs. Also, at some point there will be sexy wrestling. So there's that to look forward to.
(Currently rated as Mature due to some battle scenes and the likelihood of sexytimes later on; I will update the rating if it ends up requiring Explicit later on.)

"It had been years, or centuries, or aeons, since last the spirit had tasted air which was not enclosed in walls, which was not freighted with dust and sorrow and regret and tears. This air seemed to the spirit to smell of salt also, but a smell both ranker and purer than tears. After a moment, the spirit understood it as the scent of the sea."

Summary
Legolas brings three important things with him to Valinor: a dwarf, news of Aragorn and Arwen's passing, and the knowledge that his father is staying behind. However, on the day Legolas delivers news of Arwen to Elrond's family, he and Elrohir begin to fall in love, bit by bit, and—over the centuries—they settle into the kind of unacknowledged romance that grows in the little domestic moments in between. Still, Aman cannot stop the passage of time, and elves are struck by grief wherever they walk. Elrohir and Legolas must work their way through Gimli's passing to finally reach the lightness of the other side, but they may need a little unexpected help to get there. Even in Eternity time marches on, and things may yet come full circle.

Warning: Quite different from my other stories. My inner critic usually insists on plot and/or humour. This is pure (though not always honest) introspection.

Summary
Laurelairë (n.): a golden poem.
Annatar still laughed, a sound like wind chimes on a day with blue skies and a gentle breeze. “It would take some bravery to enter the city of the famed jewelsmiths and offer them more treasures. If I offered you lesser crafts, you would rebuke me; if I offered you greater crafts according to my ability, you would see it for an insult. Such is not my intention, and the gift I offer is different in nature.”
In which guests come and go from Ost-in-Edhil, Celebrimbor does not want to be Lord, and the Sons of Fëanor still cast a shadow over the Noldor.
