Summary
He didn't dock in Newport until the day of the funeral. Didn't want the questions.
But when he did dock, Soos was waiting for him, leaned against Stanley's old car, wearing Stanley's old suit, red around his eyes. The first thing Soos said to him was "Your hair's lighter."
(Or: Stanley Pines is dead, but Soos feels so much like him)

Summary
So after the third time of watching his vision crawl away in muted panic while he tried to slur out jokes for his tours, he shut down the shack, told Wendy to go home, and bumbled his way to his recliner to sit in his own sweat until he stopped feeling like his skin was boiling him alive.
That was, until Soos found him. He forgot to tell the poor kid to go home.

Summary
Ford was in air, the portal dragging him in, he yelped, flailed, remembered how the smartest man he'd ever known went insane after a glimpse of the other side. He reached out. "Stanley!" He begged, and Stanley rn after him, was right under him, reaching up but just too far, not floating like Stanford because of the brand. The sigil etched into panels to keep them from being drawn in by the portal's gravity - Ford could have laughed. Instead he threw the journal at him. "Stanley! Do something!" He begged. "Stanley!" He screamed before the light of the portal ate away his eyes, his mouth, his thrashing limbs.
He kept his eyes shut tightly, curled himself against the new cold. It was dead silent. Ford was through.
(Or: A different portal entrance)

Summary
The car slowed to a halt. "Here we are!" Stan chirped in front of the ugly utilitarian building. "I talked to Coach last time, said he was cool with you scouting the joint before you make the call, I know you probably wanna think it through, but Coach's got a good lineup! I can show you some of my stuff, ah?" His eyes were practically sparkling. Ford should probably watch his matches more often, even if their old coach wouldn't be as generous as his brother made it seem, Stanley looked so excited to put on a show for him.
Ford smiled at him, lacing his fingers over Stanley's on his leg for a moment. "I'd love to see you." He said, and the car got hotboxed with pleased omega pheromones.
"Whelp!" His brother shouted in the tiny space, face ruddy and an attempt not to smile crumpling his face. "We should get going!" He left the car like it was on fire, and Ford followed him quietly into the building.
(Or: Ford considers getting back into boxing, knocks someone out before he's even in the ring)

Summary
"This was not the deal, Six."
Ford hummed. "You were the one that set the stakes, Stanley - one minute for every dollar lost, and you lost 150." He said, not looking up from the battery cover with the tiny, impossible screw. "Weren't you the one that said "business as usual until the plug is out?"
"You didn't tell me we were getting to port today." Stanley put his hands on his hips.
"Would you have let me wait if I lost, Stanley?" He asked rhetorically, and Stanley huffed.
(Or: Stan has to wear a plug in public)
