Zoey saw this and got so distracted that she missed stepped and fell off her board onto her face, as soon as Mira heard this she breaks out laughing her ass off at her girlfriend she knew something like this would happen, Mira calmed down a bit and in-between breaths asked ‘you good Zoey?’ In response all she got was Zoey putting her thumbs up and her head down.
‘Are you okay’ Zoey hears her voice is angelic its so beautiful she looked up to answer, and her mouth fell open framed by the sun in sky she looked like a purple haired goddess ‘you’re pretty’ Rumi felt her cheeks heat up she was sure she was blushing really hard, she must have a concussion thought Rumi
‘Um im sorry what’ Zoey realizes she said that out loud and suddenly yells ‘I’M PRETTY… I MEAN PRETTY GOOD’ Mira hearing this whole reaction starts laughing her ass off even more, not believing that her girlfriend fumbled that hard

"Well, obviously werewolves don't exist," Rumi laughed, shaking her head at her friend's strangeness. She tried to make it genuine, but she had never been any good at lying. "They are myths, right? And the occasional B-Movie monster?"
"Rumi, love, shut up." Mira's hands had moved with purpose, pulling her hair behind her head and into a severe ponytail, but now they hesitated, running over Rumi's shoulders, almost like she was worried. "You know you can talk to us, right?"
"I know I can, but--"
"We saw you," Zoey blurted, face immediately flushing red at the admission. "We saw you shift back. You were a wolf, then you were a girl. Um, a woman."
"A very naked woman, I might add," Mira added dryly.
"Oh."

Summary
Three women all in different places in their lives, thinking that they're content with the way things are.
Rumi, a widow and single mother to a five year old daughter just trying to find any sort of emotional connection with her days of fame and stardom behind her.
Zoey, a young 20-something with big dreams, doing whatever she can to live her on her own, taken far away from the place she called home.
Mira, the young daughter of a powerful family who is living her life on her terms, having the means and confidence to do so.
A mix of questionable decisions, absurd coincidences, and a few leaps of faith that might end up turning out beautifully for all three of them.

Celine tried to meet Mira’s gaze, but couldn’t force herself to. She instead averted her eyes, staring at the floor. She could feel the hunter’s stare boring right through her soul.
“Yes,” she finally whispered. “Rumi has patterns. But she is not a demon.”
“Then you’re going to explain everything, right now, or I walk. And when I tell Zoey, she will too. You know she will.”
Celine let the silence hang for just a moment before solemnly nodding in agreement. “If we’re going to have this conversation now, I’m going to need a drink first. And Zoey should be here."
