Summary
Leonard and Helena McCoy have thrown their lot in with Starfleet. It wasn’t like they had much of a choice in the matter, what with their ex-wife making damn sure they were forced out of their hometown with their tails tucked between their legs. Metaphorically for Leonard and literally for Helena, of course. Then they sorta lost their minds there for a hot second before they were snapped out of it by one Christopher Pike. A right bastard, that guy, because his “pep” talk stung a whole helluva lot and the next morning they marched themselves into a flying tincan to prove a point. Not their smartest moment, they can admit, but it was joining Starfleet or wind up dead in a ditch somewhere.
