Summary
He'd never heard of a sickness coming on so quickly, not even for Sonic, but his breaths were too shallow and there was a clammy, tingly feeling under his fur despite the chill that had encased his bones. Once he settled at his computer, Tails pried his fingers away from his neck, forcing them to type his symptoms into his search engine. This wasn't normal. Not for him, anyway.
Had he been poisoned somehow? Something slipped in his tea? He shouldn't have thrown the cup away. He'd need to retrieve it, get a sample from it, run an analysis. Tails coughed again, but this time his breathing hitched; wheezy gasps trying to fill his lungs with air as a too-tight feeling constricted his chest.

“Mason, Dipper, please say something,” Grauntie Mae pleaded, pulling her star shaped glasses off her face to wipe away the tears that had finally escaped and would not stop flowing. Seeing the heartbreak on her face was enough to have Stan feeling his stomach hit his feet on the floor.
“This is the stupidest thing you could have ever possibly done in a life full of fuck ups,” the stranger practically growled, straightening his posture to use the small leverage he had to size up on her. He pointed directly in her face, and as soon as Mae flinched, Stan didn’t like him or the way this stranger talked to his Aunt. The stranger in the room was glaring at the only adult in his family who was nice to him, and that knowledge alone had Stan reaching into his pocket without thinking about it. The cool, silver metal of his brass knuckles felt like a comfort in his hands, and Stan couldn’t help but grip it for dear life.
“Mason, please, you’re my brother,” Grauntie Mae pleaded, and through all the confusion, Stan felt the lightbulb go off in his and Ford’s minds in an instant.
