The creak of the pub door, and the sudden increase of incoherent chatter from inside for just a brief moment before the door was quickly shut, alerted him to the fact that he was no longer able to enjoy this respite alone. He couldn’t quite make out who it was until they plopped down beside him, jostling him as they did so with nary an apology, and put a cigarette to their lips.
“What do you want, Reg?” Bill sighed.“Fraser.”
“Hm?”
“Wanna take me home?”

“Hey, Munson!” Eddie’s a couple feet away; it seems like he’s kicked the habit of hardly ever showing up to homeroom. He just looks at Steve, like he’s faintly baffled, so Steve feels the need to tack on, “It’s Steve. Steve Harrington?”
That does the trick: Eddie shakes his head as if Steve’s just said something completely pointless.
