Summary
I often listen to music while I'm reading, and I happened to be reading a Naruto fanfic and Angry too by Lola Blanc came on so my brain made this. Basically, Kushina has a badass older cousin who's the Heir to Uzushio (my brain really like Uzu having a monarchy instead of a dictatorship, idk why) because Kushina is to become the Jinchuriki and Uzu needed a leader if kushina's dad die. Kushina's cousin, Isawa, is basically a walking natural disaster and this is how she protects her people.

Summary
The Uzumaki were known to have a strange relationship with death.
It was just one of those things everyone knew about them. That they were sealers, they had bright red hair, they were long lived and they had a relationship of some sort with the Shinigami.
What people didn’t know was the specifics. See, when an Uzumaki died, as long as someone who knew them was alive, even passingly met for a brief moment, they would continue on as spirits, only perceived by those of their chakra as granted by the Great Chakra Spirit of Uzu herself.
Here, Namikaze Minato and Uzumaki Kushina still died, their young child still held the Great Nine Tailed Chakra Spirit, Kurama, and he still had the dream of protecting everyone he counted as precious. But he also grew up knowing who his parents were, what legacy and responsibility he carried, and with the stories his mother told of a city of glowing seals, of red clay shingled rooftops held up by sparking cream sandstone walls, and a salty sea breeze that sang with the welcoming croon of the spirit of Uzushiogakure, he also carried the dream of reforming the city and country that was the inspiration for Shinobi Villages.
The Uzu no Kuni; the Land of Whirlpools.
