And then, even though they'd both been having their own internal debates throughout the entire interaction so far, and even though they were in fact drastically different people, Xiao and Venti had, in the same moment, the exact same thought:
“Oh, God. A roommate.”
In which Venti the witch tries his best to break Xiao's mysterious curse.

Xiao was everywhere and in everything. Venti’s once beautiful love—taken in the blink of an eye. And as the years passed, his hope for reunion slowly dissipated.
But then he saw him again. Though sharper, colder, and much more dark than his Xiao, it was still him. However, five years was a lot of time, and Xiao’s mind was broken. He didn’t remember Venti and the life he swore they had together.
All he knew now was how to kill, and how to do it without getting caught.
