    In one universe, the fight with Overhaul leads to multiple tragedies, including the loss of a Quirk and the life of a hero.
    In this universe, Izuku got to the fight just a few minutes quicker, and moved without thinking.
    And got shot by a Quirk-erasing bullet.
    Things don't go as they should.

     

    OR: An odd crack and angst ramble of a one-shot in which I sat down and went, 'Would Deku actually lose One for All, since he doesn't have a Quirk Factor?' And decided the answer was no.

    Izuku’s only ever wanted to help people, ever since he was a child. Originally, he wanted to be a hero, but over time, he grew out of that fantasy and moved on to medicine. Having finally gotten his doctorate, he decides to open up a clinic in a place where people most need the help.

    Running a charity clinic for the poor and homeless isn’t glamorous, or nice, or pays well. In fact, it pays very little, just enough to live off of in a tiny apartment in a very bad neighborhood. But he loves it all the same because he’s helping people who truly need it.

    He’s trained for years to be a doctor, but that training doesn’t prepare him for catching the eye of two people most would never want to be seen by. Izuku’s just mainly fed up with having his day interrupted.
