Look, take ours for ease—we both have a zanpakuto on a wrist. We have a mark of our spirits on our forearm. Sure, it means we’re Shinigami close to our spirits but that makes more sense than approaching someone who has the same flower.”

Kurosaki Ichigo has more than enough to deal with, what with Muramasa being around and carving out a decent if simple life for him and his sisters. He’s really not all that prepared for a run in with a shinigami captain who then continues to appear in his life and shows continued actual interest in Ichigo and his sisters.
