The door slammed open with the force of the push. He fell to the ground with a crack, and the hands around his throat tightened viciously.
Chase grabbed ahold of the old man's shirt and with his right hand he punched him square in the face. It was then that the clinic finally erupted into noise and action.

Chase is stuck doing House's clinic hours, but the whole floor is tense. A boy's come in with his mother, a fractured orbital bone and sprained wrist and the father nowhere to be seen. The case has Chase and a few nurses conspiring, and the boy reminds him dangerously of a man he knows all too well. Himself.

Ghost didn’t apologize, not for anything. The man was prideful, and when he did acknowledge he had hurt someone or had been unnecessarily cruel, he tried to fix it with a gift or doing some of their chores. He was never good with words, and probably never would be.
Ghost continued, “Are you still mad at me? I mean- fuckin’ hell, ‘course you are, I just mean it’s okay. To be mad. I’m- mad at me too, Johnny.” and his voice fucking cracked, and before he fully knew it himself he was marching over to the door and ripping it open forcefully.

“They’re wool, actually,” Draco said simply, moving his leg closer to Potter to let him see for himself. The Gryffindor was obviously in distress and maybe even some pain, and if taking it out on Draco right now helped him, Draco would let him. Maybe he really did have a crush on the poor bastard. “I’m sorry.”
“What?” Potter’s voice sounded less venomous now.
“That you got picked,” Draco explained, “I can’t believe they’re making you participate. And I honestly hope you don’t die.”
Potter watched him in confusion, “You don’t think I put my name in?”
Draco laughed and kept looking ahead, “You would rather eat slugs.”
