But naturally most of Amphoreus had had the same idea, even if Phainon had wanted to speed down the roads he wouldn’t have been able to with the amount of traffic they had gotten stuck in. A simple 2 hour drive had turned into an almost 6 hour ordeal, lunch breaks and toilet emergencies not included, but now with the sea directly in front of them and the promise of summer in the wind… He could not find it in him to be miserable.
Especially not when Mydei looked so happy.

The village hero had turned pink at that point, quickly looking back and forth as he tried to figure out how best to define his budding relationship with his companion.
“He’s not exactly a friend-” Phainon had rubbed the back of his neck, a bead of sweat rolling down his forehead.
Mydei had groaned, giving Phainon a light slap on the back before turning to her, speaking plainly.
“I’m his betrothed.”
Phainon takes Mydei back to Aedes Elysiae to celebrate their engagement.

He feels a sharp flick to his forehead. Phainon flinches, eyes lifting to meet Mydei’s scowl. Despite the severe expression, there’s a slight flush to his cheeks—his golden eyes shifting from Phainon’s gaze. Something in Phainon sinks like a stone.
“Have you no propriety, Deliverer?” Mydei asks. “Did no one teach you any manners?”
Phainon forces out a sheepish laugh, his smile unsteady.
“My apologies,” he says.
(Phainon doesn’t think there’s anything more pathetic than being jealous of a dead man.)

Mydei slowly straightens his posture, eyeing Phainon critically.
“There is nothing stopping you from telling me now,” he says. “This is your prayer, after all.”
