Summary
Sam loves Christmas.
This is a fact. No amount of arguing, complaints, or crises could ever ruin her Christmas spirit. Not even the fact that she was dead eighty five days ago. Deena could never figure out where her girlfriend's love for the holiday came from, since Sam grew up with her parents constantly fighting, but Deena knows better than to question her girlfriend’s happiness, or do anything to compromise that.
Unfortunately, Deena hates Christmas, and anything to do with the holiday.
Even if it’s as simple as putting on a damned Santa hat.
Sam loves Christmas, which means Deena puts on the Santa hat that she gives her, and accepts the cup of apple cider. (Unfortunately.)

Summary
Sam and Deena recently broke up after Sam was scared to open up about their relationship to the entire town. Though that is the least of their worries when a person close to both is brutally murdered in their home by an assailant in a Ghostface costume. With the whole town on edge and not knowing who to trust how will Deena and Sam navigate a crazy time in the middle of a murder spree. Especially when the killer is bringing back memories of something dreadful that happened back in 1978.

“It just feels unreal. All of this feels unreal,” Sam says. “Except you. You’re the most real thing I have in my life right now. The only real thing.”
Deena glances at Sam. The sight of the other girl, swallowing her last piece of cake with a watery smile on her lips, cozied-up in Deena’s old sweater, warm and soft and sleepy and right here, makes her heart beat frantically in her chest. She moves her hand to Sam’s cheek and pulls her closer. Sam responds by smiling even wider, putting her hand on Deena’s shoulder and gently closing the gap between them.
(In their kiss they taste the bitterness of their coffee, the sweetness of their apricot crumble, the warm promise of days and months and years and something else, something tender, light and pure, something that tastes a lot like real love.)
