Nishino blinks once. Then a second time. Then she scrunches up her face and thinks about it.
“Like... In alternate universes?”
“Are you not aware of the theory?”
“I am, it’s just...” Her words trail off. It’s a question she isn’t sure how to answer. Logically- it makes sense that the answer would be no. If there are infinite universes, then mathematically there has to be at least one where they don’t meet.
But... That just feels wrong. The idea of there being a Watari Nishino who doesn’t get to meet Okazaki Hanano-
