“...Okay. It is currently 5:46 PM, Quackity forgot his phone at home and I think I left my charger at that last Cracker Barrel—”
“You what?”
“—so we might have to be efficient with this recordkeeping, but we’re going to do our best. Quackity and I have been driving for—I don’t know how long we’ve been driving for—”
“Twenty six hours.”
“—Twenty six hours, on our way to Sapnap’s dads’ cabin, where our wayward fiance fled two weeks ago, after he found out that…um…”
“After he found out that we’ve been lying to him about who we are the entire time we’ve known each other.”
“Yeah. That.”
“We’re fucked. For the record.”
“...yeah. That.” A slow, purposeful inhale. “But we’re going to get him back."

Summary
Deep underground, Chayanne didn't say, “You know Phil and Missa would never abandon us.” To say it would be to accuse Tallulah of needing to hear it. To say it would be a betrayal.
Tallulah said, “You can’t take care of everyone alone, Chayanne.”
She sounded just like their dad.
(After the world ends, Chayanne and Tallulah wake up at home. The world is different. Two maps have been unevenly folded together, one grafted on top of the next. The workers are panicking, or they are changed.
Their parents are nowhere to be found.)

Summary
It’s a story you’ve heard before. A village beset by monsters.
It’s a good village, god-loving, god-fearing. Adored by Santa Perla, for the moon is always bright. But out on the edge of the forest there is a witch. And when the moon is a round eye, beholding, there is a wolf.
(Bdubs would tell the story differently.)

Summary
“No two sigils are alike,” George said. He swept the page off the desk for the students to pass around. “A demon’s sigil breaks off from their parents’ at birth, and as they grow, so too does the sigil. For every year of a demon’s life, a new stroke is added. This is one of the reasons why soul deals were so rare, even when demonic contracts were common practice.”
Karl couldn’t tear his eyes from the paper as it snaked through the rows. He was short of breath. His fingers were shaking.
“Only the strongest demons dealt in souls—demons that had lived for centuries, with sigils so complex they would have taken years to learn, let alone execute well enough to perform a summoning.”
(Sapnap always said the trick to sigilry was to let your mind wander. Don’t try to force it, just—be. No thoughts head empty, Quackity joked.
Brush to paper. Karl wanders.)

Fjord notices that Mollymauk’s scimitars aren’t, you know, real swords so much as stage props. He’s got a few questions about that. Molly recollects his first fight and why fighting for other people is the only thing worth fighting for. Obviously.

Summary
“Maybe we should go through it again,” Mumbo said. He abandoned his own project, an attempt to diagram an automatic dispenser so a baby player could memorize it, and wandered over. Grian batted him with the top of a wing on principle. Mumbo sputtered and stepped pointedly out of range. “Right, take a gander at this, yeah? Watch me extremely carefully.”
He crouched next to Grumbot, suit jacket crumpling a bit, and started explaining what he carried with him all over again, slowing his cadence like he was giving a redstone tutorial to a clueless builder. Grumbot inched closer and pressed against his side, peeking up at Grian like he was making sure he was still there.
Grian’s heart flipped in his chest, making a good faith effort to crawl up and block his throat.
