“And when her nose was full of cream I could have cried, I hope she didn’t drink any of the coffee.” She laughs, leaning back in the seat.
“Ion think so. Wish you could have taken one.”
“Yeah, me too,” she sighs, imagining herself lying in her bed, surrounded by all the lovely cats she had met today. “But, this was the best date ever, Fez. Thank you so much.”
He bows his head to the site, eyeing her carefully. “Yeah? Was nervous, you know…”
“Nervous?” The smell of the joint he had just finished a minute ago is still hanging in the air, making Lexi a little dizzy. But maybe it’s also the way he watches her now, the slight tremble in his voice.
