Summary
Cuddling has become comfortable, now, Neil a solid weight against his back. They've gotten to the point where he can be mostly bare, skin against skin. The only thing they both have on is underwear. Sam's almost tired, but there's still some energy in his bones. It leaves him unable to settle.
Neil is pressing kisses against the back of his neck, a thumb brushing up and down reassuringly against his stomach. Nothing crazy.
Then, Neil asks a question, quiet. Hesitant.
"I'm going to try something. Tell me if you want me to stop, okay?"
Sam, interested, nods.
The hand that was still moves down, tracing from his stomach to the hem of his pants. Hesitates at the band, waiting for Sam to stop him.
Sam doesn't.

"Sam, I know that you normally refuse human cargo, but I’m not sure I trust anyone else to handle this."
Sam didn’t need to know who his cargo was, he didn’t need to know what the specifics were of their past, or what would happen to them once they were delivered. The less Sam knew the better. It would be a whole lot easier for both of them if he kept his distance, and just did his job. Right?

It should have been like any other job. Collect the cargo, deliver it in one piece, and move on. Sam didn't like to get attached, and he certainly avoided making connections whenever possible. However, this delivery would prove to go a lot different from what he had planned.
