Summary
Phoenix Wright is an occupational therapist. Or rather, he *was* one. After losing his job at Grossberg LLC and getting his license suspended, he is forced to attend formal therapy sessions to deal with lingering grief over the death of one of his colleagues, Mia Fey, in order to earn back his license. He seeks out the counsel of one Dr. Miles Edgeworth, who is at first reluctant to take on his case due to their history as childhood friends. Amid rumours of Edgeworth's malpractice and corruption ever since joining the VK clinic, Phoenix plans to use the next few weeks to try and reform his old friend -- all while trying to hide a dark secret from Japanifornia's most perceptive psychotherapist.
Narumitsu therapists AU where neither of them are particularly receptive to therapy and yet are somehow qualified to practice it. Primarily Wrightworth with implied past Naruhiro & Miego. Content Warning for, naturally, in-depth discussions of mental illness, grief, trauma, medical malpractice, et cetera. More in-depth, chapter-specific content warnings will be provided where applicable. Was debating putting an MCD warning for Mia dying but considering that happens in case 2 of the first game I figured it's kind of moot

Summary
Miles' heart raced, shifting between guilt and self-indulgent thrill. He couldn't believe the man in front of him was the same Phoenix as all those years before. His sheepish grin and self-deprecating cracks were nowhere to seen, now replaced by a worn out half smile underwritten by a hard earned darkness.
How could he have known that this was how he had been living, or about the girl? That he had been struggling like this? Phoenix should have told him, he should have asked him for help...
but...he didn't tell him anything.And why would he? After how Miles left things between the two of them?
Now what do they do? When, even after all that has happened, the spark is still undeniably there?

With the hand that wasn’t already touching Miles, Phoenix reached up and slid the glasses off his face, gingerly setting them down on the end table. He dared to trail his fingertips the tiniest bit further up his thigh, voice gently curious.
“Have you ever wanted this?”
One suggestive miscommunication and a cascade of dubiously unfortunate events send Phoenix Wright and Miles Edgeworth spiraling into a night they’ll never forget.
