Aerith nodded, just once. She knew him, of course; his eyes were unmistakable even with a hood covering his hair. He was even more massive than Shinra’s posters made him out to be, her face about level with his sternum.
“Zack has spoken very highly of you. I-” Sephiroth paused, glancing around the alleyway and carefully adjusting his coat. “I need your help. I wasn’t sure where else to go.”
“What kind of help?”
His slitted eyes met hers, and she realized with a start that he was afraid. “I’m in labor.”

Vanilla Ice only shrugged, seemingly unbothered by Hol Horse jabbing an accusing finger into his chest. “I assumed you knew. It isn’t as if he appeared overnight.”
“Well, Dio didn’t exactly look like he was...y’know, in the family way when I last saw him. Besides, he doesn’t seem like the nurturin’ type.”
“I can only suggest you get used to Master Giorno being around. Lord Dio’s very fond of him already.”
“Stop treatin’ the brat like he’s some kinda royalty!”

Summary
Mista counted himself lucky that his leg had gotten away with only a graze; far worse was the blow to his pride from getting tagged by his own crossbow bolt, and if anyone asked, this was not the second time it had happened. The way Giorno’s lips turned up at the corners as he healed the wound did nothing to alleviate his embarrassment.
“You’re not gonna tell Trish about this, right?”
“Not a word.”
A pained wheeze had both Giorno and Bucciarati hurrying to Abbacchio’s side. He was fully human again, leaving him curled on his side with his clothes in tatters and heavy chains back in place around his torso. The ground beneath him was alarmingly dark and wet.
“M’fine,” Abbacchio grunted, unable to meet the stricken look on Bruno’s face.
“You’re not, Leone.”
_Or: Abbacchio refuses to believe he’s worth saving. Bucciarati has objections.

Summary
Abbacchio knew it was still Bruno in there. He moved with the same grace despite his larger frame, had the same Neapolitan accent (albeit in a deeper voice) as opposed to Diavolo’s own Sardinian. It helped that Bruno didn’t wear Diavolo’s heavy makeup, so Abbacchio could see the thick smattering of freckles across his nose and cheeks, and how his eyes still crinkled the same way at the corners when he smiled.
On the other hand, though, it was jarring the first time Bruno gave him a kiss on the cheek and didn’t have to stand on his toes to reach. He still wasn’t as tall as Abbacchio, but he no longer had to tilt his head up to meet his eyes when they talked. His hand was large enough to nearly engulf Leone’s slimmer fingers when Bruno gave them a comforting squeeze one afternoon, and their feet bumped when they sat across from each other at lunch.
He wondered if things would ever be the same between them.
_Or: Bucciarati is left in the Boss’ body, and Abbacchio struggles to cope.

“Is that really necessary, Doppio?”
“Oh, it’s not for me, it’s for the baby!” he chirped, patting the head of the plush frog he’d deposited in his grocery basket. “I want her to have loads of toys.”
“‘Her?’”
Doppio shrugged cheerfully, cupping a palm over the swell of his belly. “I think it’s a girl.”
Diavolo sighed; he’d hoped Doppio wouldn’t get too attached, but it didn’t matter in the end. He would take care of things when the time came.
