This wasn’t what Denji had had in mind when he dreamed of falling asleep with a girl. He’d thought it would be more exciting than this; that his heart would be beating like crazy and he wouldn’t be able to keep his trembling and probably sweaty hands still, among… well, other things. And it’s not like Power isn't a cute girl. So sharing a bed with her should still be hot, right?
But it's nothing like that. It’s not hot at all.
It is warm, though. And comfortable. Even with Power snoring so loudly and her horns threatening to gouge his eye out.
It feels nice.

Ash Ketchum was a remarkable boy. Fearless, indomitable, altruistic and completely unaware of the ridiculousness of finding all three traits in one person. In the short amount of time Froakie had known him, he'd proved that there was no limit to the love he was willing to afford those he encountered and that he was willing to climb buildings for a pokémon he didn't know and then leap off of them for one he did.
He was completely and utterly mad.
He was everything Froakie had ever wanted.

Money, Tara thinks immediately. If she completed a contract like that, she wouldn’t have to worry about having a roof over her head for years. She’d gain instant respect in the criminal community, and the privilege of choosing her own jobs, rather than taking other people’s shit-encrusted leftovers. Nobody would want to mess with the merc who’d taken down the Titans.
No, more than money. Loyalty. Love, even. Slade had been the first person who’d reached out to her since she was little. He’d taken her seriously as a professional, which was already great, but as time passed, she began to feel more strongly for him than she had for anyone before. And he felt back. He never treated her like a kid. He loved her like an adult.
Loved, past tense. He left.
