“Swear it,” Pete hisses.
“Okay, fine, fine.” Ray says, and he’s definitely angry now. Good, now they can both be angry. “I swear. No, how did you put it? Dumbass heroic stunts. I’ll make every effort to live. But you make the same promise, or you can’t hold me to it.” There are tears in his eyes, and Pete briefly feels like a heel.
“Ray—”
“You don’t want to lose me, fine. I’m not losing you either. We both walk away from this, or neither of us do. Promise me.”

“Well,” Jon drawls. “ This is a pleasant way to spend New Year's Eve.”
Martin can’t disagree. He’s got a gorgeous man in his lap, a bellyful of whisky, and their pain levels have been manageable for the past few weeks, despite the cold. All in all, he’s spent far worse holiday seasons.

“Do you think she’s alright, Jon? She’s barely touched her food.” Martin looks at her worriedly and Cleo returns his gaze from her sanctuary under the bed, slightly bored. She is hungry, but experience has taught her that there are always better things available than dry food, for a cat who has patience.

“Recording ends.” Jon hits the stop button on the recorder and stares at Martin, an unreadable expression on his face. Martin fidgets and tries not to squirm under the scrutiny. Jon rarely brings himself to look at Martin directly and when he does, his expressions range between mild irritation on good days and complete exasperation on bad ones, expressions Martin has no trouble interpreting, thank you very much. This look is something altogether different.
OR let the archive staff give each other some goddamn hugs once in a while.

"Martin stands in the doorway with his mouth open, taking in the scene in front of him. Jon seems to have decided looking half dead wasn’t working for him and has now graduated to looking mostly dead, swaying on his feet and pressing a commemorative tea towel to his bleeding shoulder."
Or there really is too much drinking going on in the Archives these days.

Summary
Hannibal looks out over the world beyond the edge of the battlefield and sees the all its potential for horrible, inelegant beauty. Lucifer speaks of humanity as a mistake, and it’s true--Hannibal can see how it will all play out. He will not Fall, nor will he be cast out. The choice to descend from heaven is his own, not made out of hatred of humanity, but fascination.
A Good Omens fusion featuring the angel Will and the demon Hannibal, detailing their friendship from Lucifer's Fall to the birth of the antichrist.

From then on, it seemed, The Game was on and the rules were tacitly accepted and understood by both parties. There was to be no touching -at least not with hands or mouth- and whoever could tempt the other into breaking this rule would be the undisputed winner.

This is what he should have done years before on a bench at the Uffizi Gallery. This is what he should have done on a rainy night in Baltimore, when Will stared at him with pleading eyes and the water dripping off his curls.
