He wakes up. A couple of things occur to Mark at once. They are in the hotel bed together, but it’s not sunrise yet. Helly isn’t naked and spread under him. She’s curled up to the side of him in her bathrobe, snoring into his neck.

“Just get it over with,” Gi-hun growls. “You have the gun. End it.”
“It doesn’t mean anything to win against a cheater. I think I’d rather punish you instead." Gi-hun tries to pull himself away but the man roughly grabs a fistful of his shirt, shoving the gun into his face. The salesman yanks Gi-hun up from his chair with surprising force, and he crumples onto the floor directly in front of him, hard ground hitting his knees. He doesn’t move to stand up. "How about you use your body to pay?"
//Or, Gi-hun tries to shoot the recruiter during Russian roulette. The recruiter figures out a different way to punish him.

“I don’t know if we’re ever gonna get to have this again,” Mark breathes. “I don’t know how long this can last.”
Helly cups his face gently, massaging her thumb back and forth along the curve of his jaw. She touches him like she wants to map his body. Like she could rebuild his soul from scratch if she could just commit it to memory.
“Then let’s enjoy it while we can. Okay?”
When she kisses him, it feels like an inevitability.
