Summary
The story follows the evolving and complex relationship between Miyuki, a former shinigami from the Fourth Squad turned Visored, and Jūshirō Ukitake. Through rejection, loss, exile, and unspoken feelings, they struggle to define what they mean to each other amidst the harsh realities of war and personal trauma.
It is mostly Miyuki POV, but with some parts from Ukitake.
There’s also a small intimate moment at the end—blink and you’ll miss it. Rated M primarily for canon-typical violence, dark themes, and emotional heaviness, including (unnamed) panic attacks, death, loss, and mentions of a controlling, abusive family. Despite the hardships, the story centers on the moments of vulnerability, healing, and the fragile but undeniable bond they share.
