Even so, despite being clearly fresh off of not nearly enough sleep and barely containing a yawn, Zoey stared at them both with a hardness she rarely possessed.
After a long moment, Mira sighed. "The fact that it's probably gonna turn into a fight. Not an argument. A fight."

Celine's face softened and saddened, but Rumi could tell she wasn't on the edge of anything just yet. It was fairly safe to bring this up. "Best friends."
There was so much inside those two words. An echo of happiness and longing and a woman so so so much younger than the one Rumi had always known.
"Alright," Rumi nodded slowly. "So the three of you...did you ever have, um...really stupid conversations?"
("If they named a disease after you, what would it be?" "What?" "Hang on Zoey, am I discovering it or being diagnosed with it?")

"Haven't you ever had a weird, pointless question you've wanted to know the answer to?" Mira asked. For some reason, Rumi knew exactly what she would ask, and her face went bright red. The smirk on Mira's face told Rumi that that hadn't gone unnoticed. "Oooh, so you do have some."
