“You don’t know the red thread of fate?” Pokke sounds incredulous, eyes wide, before switching quickly to a look of understanding. “Well, I guess it is kinda unscientific?”
Unscientific or not, Tachyon thinks, of course she knows about the red thread of fate. That’s not the point, she wants to say, but the words get caught in her throat, and Pokke seems entirely unfazed by the implications of her own actions. There are a billion things to point out here, even; the thread isn’t meant to be literal more than a symbolism for fate, and more importantly –– why was Pokke tying it to her?

Kaveh obtains a corset during a business trip, and promptly puts it to good use when he gets home.
Kaveh climbs into bed and kneels atop Alhaitham, straddling him with his thighs. “This is a bit more exciting than me coming home with a machine core from some random ancient tomb, wouldn’t you say?”
“That could be exciting, too,” Alhaitham says, his thumbs stroking Kaveh’s hips. “I enjoy hearing about your engineering projects.”
Kaveh sighs. “Okay, I suppose I should have said that it’s a bit sexier, then.”
Alhaitham’s lips wobble with a barely-restrained smile. “Depends on what type of thing you’re engineering. That vibrating device you constructed a few months ago, for instance—”
