“You’re hurt.”
“I’m…” Wu Xie trails off, shaking his head vehemently, voice edged with hysteria. “It’s just a few scratches, Xiaoge, you’re– There’s a hole in your stomach!”
There is no hole in his stomach, the wound’s placement is far too low to damage that particular organ, but Zhang Qiling thinks Wu Xie probably wouldn’t appreciate him pointing this out. “I lost the knife.” he explains instead.
“You lost the– What–” Wu Xie shakes his head again, still staring at Zhang Qiling with a wide-eyed look and his grip is tight enough it starts to shake. “You lost the dagger. You would have cut your hand again otherwise, wouldn’t you? But you couldn’t, so instead you decided to reopen the wound from the Miluotuo impaling you.”
Zhang Qiling nods, relieved that Wu Xie finally understands.
AKA Their adventures in the Miluotuo cave left Wu Xie and Pangzi hurt - luckily Zhang Qiling has blood with healing properties and an abdominal stab-wound making it easily accessible. Wu Xie disagrees.

Summary
There’s a small frown on Wu Xie’s face when his hand slips off Zhang Qiling, but he doesn’t wake. Zhang Qiling shivers in the night air, missing that hand. It was warm and real and steadying against him. He likes it when Wu Xie turns towards him in his sleep here in Banai, where the three of them share a bed. Likes the warm weight against his back, the sleep-heavy arm holding him. The blanket is warm and the air is cold and he doesn’t want to leave the bed.
He has to, before he makes the stains worse.
His feet are cold as he makes his way to their small, adjacent bathroom, keeping his hand cupped below his face in hopes of catching the blood before he leaves its stains across the floor but too much of it is flowing, pooling in his palm, inevitably spilling over.
AKA Xiaoge gets a bad nighttime nosebleed sometime during their early Banai days. Wu Xie and Pangzi take care of it.

“What the actual fuck?” Pangzi exclaims eloquently, and Wu Xie would rib him for it, except he’s distantly aware of his own mouth hanging open in speechlessness, so to be fair, Pangzi’s comment is probably still a step up from him.
“Ah, ahem, frick, I mean, what the actual frick?” Pangzi corrects himself after a second. “What? This Pang-ye has been raised with proper manners, I don’t swear in front of children!”
For tomb trap reasons, Xiaoge is turned into a child. That turns out to be an emotionally harrowing situation for all three of them.
